Greg McKertich 1972 - 1995

His artistic talent was nurtured from an early age by his mother, a graduate of the Royal College of Art, and by visiting the museums in Florence and Paris with his art teachers from Newman school.  He was influenced by Michelangelo, Rodin, Epstein, Gill, Boccioni, Gaudier-Brzeska, Williams, Kapoor, Aiken, and Goldsworthy. 

 

Encouraged by obtaining a grade A in GCE 'A' level Sculpture, Greg enrolled on a foundation course in Art & Design at Hastings College of Arts & Technology.  He completed this course with a distinction and won a "Young Artists Travel Award 1991" from East Sussex County Council.  Some of his works were exhibited at the Hastings Museum & Art Gallery in May 1992.
